Another proud son of Naga is making waves overseas as an outstanding OFW, community leader and distinguished Filipino worth emulating.
For more than 13 years now, Nagueño Ronnie R. Albeus has been working as a quality assurance manager of the Tyco Singapore where he excelled as an outstanding employee and at the same time community leader among the Singapore-based OFWs.
Ronnie graduated cum laude for his BSBA major in Management degree at the University of Nueva Caceres where he was also cited with a Leadership Award and Unit Award for Peer Counselors. He would later find work at Tyco in Singapore where he works as a Quality Assurance Manager for its Fire and Security Business Segment. And for 13 solid years, Ronnie worked hard and at the same time served well his overseas kababayans as a community leader.
Volunteerism as one of his core values in life, Ronnie has been serving as the president of the Filipino Association of Singapore since 2003. He is the choir leader of the Reach Out Minstrels which regularly sing at the church services at the Mother Theresa Home for the Aged every Sunday. He also serves as the overall coordinator of the Bicolano Association of Singapore.
A good provider of a family of four (Ronn Cedric, Ameerah Dianne, Hannah Alyssa, Leiazel Shanley) and a loving husband to his wife, Marissa, Ronnie Albeus has been spearheading numerous humanitarian, charitable, socio-cultural, spiritual, civic and other welfare projects aside from his family and work commitments.
Among the multi-pronged projects and activities he initiated and worked out were: various outreach programs both in Singapore and the Philippines, organizing the search for the Filipino Star in Singapore, the FAS annual sports tourney, annual Filipino sportsfest (the Palarong Pilipino since 1994), free dental mission to the poorest of the poor in the country, distribution of free school supplies, free health screening, distribution of relief goods for Mayon Volcano eruption victims, fund raising campaigns for scholarship grants, and gift-giving, among others.
No wonder, Ronnie was cited the following awards: ONE of the Four Outstanding Filipinos in Singapore Awardees (June 12, 2006) conferred by the Philippine Embassy in Singapore; Outstanding Alumnus Award conferred by his alma mater, the University of Nueva Caceres in 2002; Mayoral Recognition Award given by the City Government of Naga on the occasion of its Charter Day anniversary on December 15, 2001; Gawad Geny Lopez, Jr. Bayaning Pilipino 2001 Award as country winner for the Asia-Pacific region conferred by the ABS-CBN on November 15, 2001.
